History
The Golf club was conceived and established due to the great initiative of DFO Mr. M. S. Goudar and Dr. E. V. Ramana Reddy, Deputy Commissioner, in 1998. PGC, which was originally a part of Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, became an independent entity and was registered on the 11th of October 2001, with Mr. A.K. Monappa, Deputy Commissioner Mangalore, as President, Mr. Eugene Rent as Captain, Mr. T. Subbayya Shetty as Secretary, and Mr. B.B. Shetty as Treasurer.
Tournaments are conducted annually with the participation of golfers from the state in particular, and also several golfers from our affiliated clubs and neighboring states like Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, and Tamil Nadu. With the expansion of tourism in the coastal region, SEZs, the international airport, and the seaport in Karnataka, Mangalore has significant scope for development. We planned to increase memberships to sustain the maintenance of the course.
We have welcomed many foreign tourists playing at our golf course. Agreements with tourist agencies bring these tourists when cruise liners berth at Panambur Port.
With a beautiful ambiance featuring golf greens and fairways in the background, we have hosted numerous weddings and other functions, sometimes accommodating over 1,500 guests. Additionally, we offer sufficient parking areas for all our guests.
